We apply rigorous measures to guarantee the safety, stability, purity, sterility and quality of each formulation from preparation to administration. All compounded formulas are compounded with high quality pharmaceutical-grade active pharmaceutical ingredients sourced directly from PCCA, the leader of superior-quality APIs because they test each lot against the certificate of analysis (C of A), USP, EP, NF, FCC, ACS and PCCA standards. In addition, our pharmacy network meets USP <797> sterile compounding standards and USP <795> non-sterile guidelines and hosts one the first labs built to the USP <800> chapter for handling hazardous drugs.
All of our formulations undergo third-party potency and stability testing and we enforce high-sensitivity rapid endotoxin detection in-house. This ensures shorter delivery times to the patient without compromising on results. Because we procure all of our active ingredients from PCCA, we also guarantee an extra level of pre-formulation testing; PCCA ingredients undergo 14 high-level checks and reviews to pass inspection.

Gopesh Patel
Gopesh Patel, R.Ph is the compounding pharmacist-in-charge and owner at New Drug Loft in Manhattan, and VLS Pharmacy in Brooklyn. Patel focuses on providing high quality prescriptions and compounded medications, as well as overseeing the state-of-the-art sterile compounding facilities at VLS Pharmacy.
Patel’s philosophy is patient-centered and this can be seen in the effort that he and the staff undertake to provide only the best products and services to all customers. He takes great pride in the quality of compounded medications that he prepares and works closely with all staff to instill this same mindset and commitment to excellence.
Patel is a member of the International Academy of Compounding Pharmacists, Professional Compounding Centers of America, A4M and ACAM, is on the advisory board for PCCA and is a Wiley Protocol Premiere Pharmacist. Patel frequently lectures at PCCA seminars, and is a Preceptor for pharmacy students from Long Island University College of Pharmacy, Touro College of Pharmacy and the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences University in Boston. He frequently contributes to trade publications including Pharmacy Times.

He frequently gives his time within the communities of Brooklyn and the Upper East Side to educate young people about the fun he has being a pharmacist.
Samantha Blakeney
Samantha has over 20 years of experience in pharmaceutical marketing and sales and specializes in dermatology, plastic surgery, and integrative medicine. She has worked with pharmacy labs and manufacturers to develop sophisticated cosmeceuticals, which are currently dispensed across medical practices, medispas and mass markets.
Samantha received her Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and Public Relations from the University of Tennessee and her Master of Arts degree in English from New York University. Samantha is a graduate of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine/University of South Florida’s Lifestyle Coaching program and has completed the Professional Compounding Centers of America (PCCA) marketing program.
Samantha has contributed to publications including AmSpa, Charlotte’s Book, The Dermatologist, International Journal of Compounding Pharmacists and Integrative Practitioner on a wide range of topics including compounding for IV therapy, dermatology, sexual health and bio-identical hormone replacement therapy.
Ben Sheth, R. Ph
Ben Sheth, R.Ph has been a registered pharmacist since 1980. He has spent the past 30+ years working at New Drug Loft, where he works closely with physicians and patients to meet specific medical needs and enjoys providing personalized care to promote the health and wellness of each customer. He takes great pride in the personal relationships he has developed with practitioners, patients, and their families. Ben is a member of the International Alliance for Pharmacy Compounding, is a licensed pharmacist in multiple states and is C3 trained in non-sterile compounding.
Sumit Desai, PharmD
Sumit Desai, PharmD has been a practicing pharmacist for over ten years and takes great pride in offering a consultative experience for patients and prescribers. Sumit earned his Doctorate in Pharmacy from the esteemed Arnold and Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences at Long Island University. He is certified by Pharmacy Compounding Centers of America (PCCA) in Aseptic Technique allowing him to prepare low-, medium-, and high-risk sterile compounds and to provide oversight in our USP <800> compliant facility. Sumit spearheads VLS Pharmacy’s extensive community vaccine program. Being trilingual provides Sumit the ability to communicate with large populations as he strives to educate patients about their medications, lifestyle choices, and overall well-being. Sumit is currently pursuing his advanced certification as a LDN (Low Dose Naltrexone) Specialist from LDN Research Trust.
Norman Bartelle
As a manager at New Drug Loft, Norman Bartelle is instrumental in selecting the pharmacy’s diverse range of premier health and beauty products. Norman has worked in the industry for over 25 years and enjoys helping customers find the best product to fit their individual needs. Norman grew up on the Upper East Side, and attended St. David’s School and the Birch Wathen Lenox School. He has strong ties to the community and is passionate about providing superior service in a welcoming environment. He previously worked at J. Leon Lascoff and Son Pharmacy until the store’s closure in 2012. Norman also attended the Rochester Institute of Technology.
